Visiting Penguins in Patagonia
This website contains information about seeing Magellanic penguins and other wildlife in the Chubut province of Patagonia, Argentina. The region is a marine wildlife hotspot, and many people travel there to see whales and seals as well as penguins.
The largest number of penguins are at the Punta Tombo nature reserve, but it is also possible to see penguins on a private ranch at Punta Ninfas and on the Peninsula Valdes.
All of the information is based on my own first-hand experience as a tourist in Argentina. In general, most people fly into Trelew airport, and stay in the town of Puerto Madryn, although there are other options for accommodation.
The penguins and other wildlife are only present at certain times of the year, see the wildlife calendar for the best months to visit.
